We often receive calls from dog trainers and clients enrolled in dog training classes who are looking for Martingale Collars as training devices.
Even though they were originally created for sighthounds whose heads are smaller than their necks, more and more professionals are recommending martingale collars for all breeds of dogs because of their many training benefits.
In the past, some dog training classes have required choke chains or even prong collars. Many (if not all) trainers are moving away from choke and prong collars because of the damage they can cause to the neck and trachea and are instead suggesting martingale or limited slip collars for their dog training clients.
Martingale Collars have 2 loops, the smaller loop tightens gently on your dog's neck to provide the slightest bit of correction but will not choke or crush the trachea as long as it is adjusted correctly.
