How do I measure my dog for the Freedom Harness?

Are you tired of your dog pulling on their leash during walks? Want to try a Freedom No-Pull Harness, but aren't sure what size you need? Below are instructions plus a video to help you get the perfect fit!

Step 1: Gather Your Tools

Before you start measuring, make sure you have a soft measuring tape on hand. You'll also need your dog's weight and breed information for reference to make sure your measurements make sense.  (we measure in inches, so please be sure and use the inch side of the measuring tape)

Step 2: Measure the Girth

Start by measuring your dog's girth, which is the widest part of their chest. Wrap the measuring tape around your dog's chest, just behind their front legs. Make sure the tape is snug but not too tight.

Step 3: Check the Sizing Chart

Once you have your dog's girth and neck measurements, refer to the sizing chart provided by the Freedom No Pull Harness manufacturer. Match your dog's measurements to the corresponding size on the chart to determine the best fit.

See below for a quick video that we filmed in the office with Bella, the Great Dane.

That's it!

Don't have a soft measuring tape?  We show that option in the video as well.

Simply use a piece of string and measure how big around your dog is with the string, then use any measuring device you have (ruler, tape measure, yard stick) to measure the length of the string.

When choosing the correct size for your new harness, we recommend selecting the smallest size that still fits.

BONUS Tip!  Already have a Freedom Harness?

If you already have a Freedom No-Pull harness, you can also check the size tag on the sternum strap.  See image below to find the sternum strap on your harness.
