I ordered this collar to go with our rough collie’s hot pink Freedom harness. Because she’s a rough collie with a big coat, the collar and harness are almost impossible to see, so I can’t send a photo that shows off either one. But when you do glimpse the harness through her coat, it shows off beautifully. Our smooth collie is equally happy with his Freedom harness and matching collar. We love the harness functionality and how incredibly well-made they are. (Also appreciated is the chewing warranty…)
We usually just clip the leashes to the top ring, but it’s certainly useful to have the front ring for times when their behavior needs a little reinforcement… like when they see the deer that are rampant in our suburban neighborhood. Because collies have slender necks and can pull right out of most collars, we chiefly use the collars to hang their tags. The rough collie’s coat in this picture completely hides her collar and harness, but the smooth collie is modeling the burgundy side release collar and matching Freedom harness.
